Cathryn Connolley

For the past 17 plus years Cathryn has been developing and executing innovative business building strategies and marketing communications solutions in the healthcare space. While working at Geisinger Health System from 2000 to 2013 she served in various leadership roles. Most recently Cathryn was the Vice President of Business Marketing Strategy and Operations from 2010 to 2013. In this role, she was responsible for setting the strategic direction for physician practice development and business building initiatives, system-wide marketing, brand development and transition planning for system acquisitions.

Since 2013 she has been consulting in the healthcare space. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, business development, new physician productivity, physician relations, referring physician business building, practice acquisition planning, identifying and solving operational road blocks, service line marketing, branding, recruitment strategy, new physician onboarding and philanthropic marketing strategy and campaign planning.

Prior to working in the healthcare space, Cathryn worked in higher education administration, managed her family’s wholesale food distributing company and worked as a development officer for a land trust. She also is an adjunct faculty member at Marywood University teaching graduate course on healthcare marketing and business building.

Cathryn earned her MHSA from Marywood University and has a BA in Communications and Public Relations from Elizabethtown College.

When Cathryn isn’t providing proven healthcare business solutions to our clients she enjoys playing tennis, skiing, cooking and spending time with her husband, son and golden retriever Hagen.

With over 20 years of sales and marketing experience, Tim certainly brings a unique perspective to his clients because of his diverse skill set focused in the retail and healthcare sectors. Tim has worked on both the agency and client side, most recently serving as Vice President for Doner Advertising’s healthcare team as well as Cleveland Clinic as their Director of Advertising & Branding. Prior to his healthcare experience, Tim was Director of Sales and Marketing for Cub Cadet where he guided multiple brands of outdoor power equipment to success within the big box and the dealer channels.

Tim got his start in the business as a National Sales Manager selling power equipment for Bosch Power Tools in Chicago.

Tim’s approach capitalizes on his non-healthcare experience to bring breakthrough ideas to a relatively conservative healthcare industry. Tim provides a range of services to health systems, including the following:

Operational Consulting – assisting Administration with evaluating opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness with regard to internal work processes, patient communication, patient and physician satisfaction, and physician onboarding.

Strategic Planning – assistance with development of business/marketing plans, budgeting, developing pro-forma analyses for new services and benchmarking key performance indicators.

Tim has a BA in Public Relations from the University of Dayton.

When Tim is not in the office, he put himself on ice. An avid hockey player and coach, Tim travels the Midwest most weekends with his wife and 3 children and has become quite the aficionado of hotel pools and free breakfast buffets.

Rich Miller

Rich Miller, Strategy and Product Development Officer, focuses on growing and developing programs that help healthcare organizations accelerate productivity and ensure patient satisfaction.

Rich is responsible for expanding current programs and helping develop new programs that link cost to achieved outcomes. Rich’s ability to predict and adapt to new healthcare trends and models is key to providing new products and services to our clients.

Rich most recently served as President and CEO of Virtua healthcare system in South New Jersey. He joined the West Jersey Health System in 1986 as Vice President of Finance. During his tenure at West Jersey, he served as Executive Director of the Berlin Hospital, Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, and Senior Vice President of Hospital Affairs before being named President and CEO in 1996.

Miller was instrumental in Virtua’s growth from a group of community hospitals into a highly-respected regional healthcare provider. Miller helped create Virtua from the merger of the West Jersey Health System and Memorial Health Alliance in 1998, in the beginning of the trend of hospital mergers and acquisitions. As reimbursement models began changing, he was instrumental in leading the shift from hospital-based services to an outpatient setting. Then as healthcare shifted to population health and wellness, Miller led the way in introducing wellness services as part of Virtua’s services and was an early adopter of adding fitness centers, weight loss programs and urgent care centers to the patient care model.

Miller has been recognized nationally with appointments to the Leadership Advisory Council of the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare (CTH) and to the Governing Council of Healthcare Executives for the American Hospital Association. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and served as a trustee of the National Quality Forum.

Miller serves on the Operating Committee of the Board of Select Greater Philadelphia. He has served on the Board of the University of the Sciences of Philadelphia, was chairman of the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Hospital Association, a member of the Governor's Committee on Benchmarking for Quality and Efficiency, and the NJ Healthcare Access Study Commission. He is a past chairman of the board for the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey.

Haili Coombe

Haili Coombe brings nearly a decade of marketing and communications experience to the table, with more than five of those years spent in healthcare. Prior to joining SystemCare Health, she worked for Geisinger Health System as a marketing specialist focused on the successful onboarding of new providers.

Passionate about achieving measurable ROI and reporting on data analytics, Haili’s healthcare marketing expertise includes writing marketing plans, developing referral tracking reports, evaluating market-based opportunities, and monitoring new physician productivity. Most recently Haili worked with Geisinger’s Mergers and Acquisitions team, helping to project manage the financial due diligence of new sites.

John Wiercinski

John Wiercinski, MHA

John Wiercinski is a Senior Consultant with SystemCare Health and brings over 30 years of business strategy, operations, financial and administrative healthcare expertise to the organization.

Always having a passion for healthcare, John served many different health systems in leadership roles. John joined the Geisinger organization as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre Campus and rose through roles of increasing responsibility to his last position as Regional Vice President for the Northeastern market. In the process, John led Geisinger Health System as it expanded through the region and became the market leader for all of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New York and Western New Jersey.

Prior to joining Geisinger Health System in 2005, John served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Senior Vice President for Operations at Bradford Regional Medical Center, and appointed by former Pennsylvania Governor Bob Casey as the Director of Health Planning for the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

As Regional Vice President, John was responsible for leading the northeastern market expansion for Geisinger Health System. This expansion included unprecedented growth for the health system, including multiple hospital acquisitions and exponential patient volume increases.

As it relates to SystemCare Health's Doctivity℠ model, John managed the development and implementation of physician productivity initiatives to allow new physician practices to reach their identified financial benchmarks within their first six months of practice. John also brings expertise in physician relations program development and execution to SystemCare Health.

He earned a Master’s Degree in Hospital and Health Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, and his Bachelor of Science at the University of Scranton.

A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, John is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Scranton and serves on their Professional Advisory Committee for the Graduate Program in Health Administration. He is also on the Boards of the Scranton Chamber of Commerce, Lackawanna College and Heritage Valley Partners. John serves on the Advisory Panel for the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, The Regional Bioscience Initiative and The Institute for Public Policy’s Health Care Task Force and has recently been appointed as a Commissioner to the Pennsylvania Military Community Protection Commission.

Carolyn Handrick

Carolyn Handrick has over 23 years of experience in the marketing and communications field with 18 of those years spent in the healthcare industry. Carolyn has experience developing and implementing integrated internal and external communications strategies including, launching brand campaigns, implementing new logo standards, revamping internal communications strategy and sorting through the messy details of mergers and acquisitions, safety issues, union negotiations and potential strikes.

Prior to consulting in the healthcare space, Brian served as Manager of Social Media for Geisinger Health System. There he helped lead the enterprise social media strategy resulting in extensive community growth and social engagement, and was integral to launching the system's first internal social business platform. His healthcare marketing experience includes content strategy, social and digital advertising, physician onboarding, service line marketing, event management and multi-channel disease awareness campaigns.

Brian’s strategic approach to healthcare and physician marketing is rooted in his e-commerce background, where he managed brand marketing and digital advertising for Fortune 500 web stores as a Senior Solutions Analyst for True Action (now an eBay Enterprise agency). Whether it’s an industry-leading apparel, shoe, hardware or electronic retailer, or now healthcare organization, his analytic and outcome-based marketing style is flexible to fit the need of each client.

He has a BA in Communications and a BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Aside from marketing, Brian has many passions. As a former world-class track and field athlete in the javelin, he has a spark for teaching the ancient event to aspiring athletes. He also enjoys cooking, exercising, cheering on and agonizing over Philadelphia-based sports teams, and most of all, spending his free time with his wife and young daughter.

Before SystemCare Health, Mr. Carr was responsible for PR & Marketing support for multiple endeavors at Geisinger Health System to include cancer and general surgery service lines, Geisinger for-profit ventures, Geisinger Consulting Group (now xG), ACO’s, research, genomics, telemedicine and the blood donation/collection company.

Dan is well versed in the Affordable Care Act and has experience in working with health systems implementing and adapting to new models of care, such as Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). A marketing approach that considers The Triple Aim goals of improving the patient experience, improving the health of population, and reducing the per capita cost of health care is always present while simultaneously looking for more favorable financial viability for the organization as a whole.

Dan has a BA in Communications from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Carr is also a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he served his country honorably as a United States Marine specializing in public affairs, videography and photography. During which time he earned Visual Information Production Awards from the Department of Defense for excellence in the creation of video documentaries.
